Condoleezza Rice “Amazing Grace” Fourth Of July Performance ~ Gerry McCracken

Condoleezza Rice is celebrating Independence Day with a stirring performance of “Amazing Grace” in honor of Fourth Of July. Watch below!

In the video, the Former Secretary of State plays the piano as 2012 Grammy Nominee, Jenny Oaks Baker plays the violin with images of the Armed Forces appearing and fading behind them. Rice wrote on her Facebook page, “Amazing Grace has always held a special place in my heart. It seemed only appropriate to release the video in conjunction with the 4th of July weekend as we recognize the blessings we have in this country and the sacrifices of our servicemen and women for our freedom.”

Rice is a classically trained pianist, and was going to pursue a career in music before jumping into politics. For those interested in downloading a copy, the track is available on iTunes as a single. All the proceeds are going to the Wounded Warriors Project, as the collaboration is a tribute to America’s military.

Rice is also a big NFL football fan and there was talk a couple years ago about her becoming the Commissioner for the National Football League. While this never happened, Rice certainly has the sports credentials for the top spot. Not only is she a professed diehard football fan, she’s said to have an encyclopedic knowledge of the game, she’s a member of the College Football Playoff selection committee and is also one of the first two women admitted to Augusta National.
